The rectory is located at 231 Upland Road. Parking is available in the back of the building, in the spaces provided near the stone wall. The Rectory is the first building on the Property, (Rectory, Church, Convent, School) Anyone coming to the Rectory for an appointment with the Priests may use either the Side entrance (between Rectory and Church), or the Front Entrance (facing Upland Road). Both of these entrances have a silver electronic speaker and doorbell for your convenience.
Q: Where is the church located?
A: The Church is located next to the Rectory. There are steps at every entrance. There is a wheelchair Ramp on the south side of the Church at the middle doorway. Both the ramp and door require assistance to enter.
Q: Where is the Religious Education Office located?
A: The Religious Education Office is now located in the Parish Rectory at 231 Upland Road.
Q: How do we register in the parish?
A: Please call or stop by the Rectory Office during office hours to schedule an appointment to meet with the pastor to register.

Q: How do I get a Mass card?
A: Please come to the Rectory Office during normal operating hours. Announced Masses are said Monday through Saturday at 8:00 A.M. We do take Sunday Intentions. The offering is $10. Unannounced Masses are also available for an offering of $10. We also have a Parish Memorial Society in which Mass is offered every First Sunday of the Month at the 9:00 a.m. Mass, donations of $10.00 and up are accepted to this fund.
Q: How do I get an announcement in the bulletin?
A: BULLETIN SUBMISSIONS
The OLC Parish Bulletin is published weekly and is available on the parish website and distributed at Masses on Sundays. Submissions are due each Monday by noon without exception and e-mailed to olcharity@comcast.net with formatting left to a minimum. Final editing is subject to space available in the bulletin. Please include a contact name and phone number. In the case where announcements must be submitted handwritten, please make sure the text is legible.
BULLETIN INSERTS
All inserts must be submitted to the Rectory Office for approval a minimum of ten (10) days before you would like it to appear.
Q: When are Baptisms celebrated?
A: Baptisms are celebrated on the First and Third Sundays on the month at 10:00 a.m.
Q: Are there Baptism classes?
A: Yes, all parents must attend a Pre-Jordan class before the Baptism. Kindly call the Parish Secretary to sign-up.
Q: What are the requirements for Godparents?
A: Godparents need to be practicing Catholics. The exception is made in the case of when a parent of the child to be baptized is of another Christian faith. The Catholic Godparents need to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from their parish. The certificate verifies that they are a member of a Catholic Church. Godparents need to be at least 16 years of age and have received all the Sacraments of Initiation. If married, they are in a valid Marriage, i.e. one that was witnessed by a Catholic Priest, in a Catholic Church, unless dispensed from the Catholic form of marriage by the Diocesan Bishop. Please contact the Pastor with any questions.
Q: How Many Godparents do I need?
A: You may have one or two. If one, either male or female, and this Godparent needs to be a member of the Catholic Church. If you have two, one is to be male for the Godfather and female for the Godmother. All Catholics as Godparents need to remit a Letter of Eligibility from their Parish where they are registered and practice.
Q: Can I have two Godmothers and/or two Godfathers?
A: For our records, we need one Godmother and Godfather.
Q: Can I have a visiting Priest perform the Baptism?
A: Yes, please contact the Pastor for more information.
Q: What is the customary donation for Baptism?
A: The donation to the Parish is $75.00.
Q: Can I reserve a wedding date?
A: You must contact the Pastor in order to reserve a wedding date. Weddings can be scheduled any day during the week, people usually prefer to schedule on Friday, time mutually determined between the Priest and the Wedding Couple, or Saturday at 2:00 PM. Either the bride or the groom must be registered in the parish, or have family living within the Parish. Sunday Weddings are possible.
Once you have spoken to the pastor about your wedding, there is a guidebook available at the rectory, answering all your questions pertaining to having a wedding here at Our Lady of Charity.
Q: Does Our Lady of Charity offer a Pre-Cana Program Marriage Preparation Program?
A: We do not, per se. We partner with a neighboring parish, St. Joseph’s in Aston for Pre-Cana. There are other opportunities available either at the diocesan level or with private Marriage Counselors that the Pastor will suggest when you meet with him.
